"I have been a teacher at Jenks High School in Jenks, Oklahoma for twenty-six years. Since 2015, my interest in fire science/ecology has been growing. I do my best to integrate fire ecology concepts into the curriculum of my classes whenever possible. The Jenks Fire Ecology Research Station for Teaching [FERST] was designed to provide students of all ages with the opportunity to learn about tallgrass prairie and Cross Timbers ecosystems and to gain field ecology experience using the role of fire in Oklahoma as the unifying theme."
